tommy
Hi Guys, Just received my new Silca Bravo Pro Mk2, fantastic machine. One querie though, does anyone know how to override the ratchet system on the tightening handles that stops you over tightening the jaws. It is a very good idea but I have already had 2 seperate blanks vibrate a little out of the jaws which I instantly noticed as they would then have cut too deep. This is only going to get worse as the blade wears a bit. If I pull up or push down when I tighten then it seems to be a bit better. Is it a case of new handles without this system? Cheers Tommy
shoemender1
I have had mine for about six months now and have not come across your problem, what we find best is to turn the tightening tops down slowly as they seem hold the key better, when they click, stop then turn slowly again many times you can get it a little tighter before they click again. They are worth persevering with as it means you cannot stretch the bolts. Also for deep cuts we use B or D to hold the key in the groove. Superb machine . tommy
I have the original too and have never wrecked the bolts. I have had to replace a couple of handles but that is all in about 10 years.
carnkev
we had this prob too, simple enough to fix, take out red plastic cover in middle of clamp and tighten the nut a little, it will allow the clamp to tighten more. once you get the tension right the ratchet system is very good
LockandKey
Tommy - if you ever add a triax quattro to your arsenal be very careful when it comes to changing the blank & not unplugging the jaw!
tommy
Thank you carnkev, will try that. I do not think I will be adding the triax quattro to my arsenal any time soon unless I win the lottery, in which case you can have my shop!
