say
Hi all i am a new member and finding my around the site so please be gentle, all help and advice appreciated. I am currently learning to engrave using a Taylor Hobson cxl machine owned by a very nice old lady (76) who has been engraving with this machine since she was 16. I will be taking over as soon as she is ready to hand the reigns over to me. We have block type, upper and lower case as well as narrow type. Could any of the members guide me to a supplier or in your cellars to find some fancy letter type, Roman or posh to add, they measure 1. 1/4 for the copy table. I would also like to purchase a gravograph (non computerized) for the time being as funds wont stretch that far yet. If i have done my homework right then a txl or something similar. The TH doesn't have any way of doing cylindrical objects either so an updated machine would be better that could do this, and then i could use both. If you have anything for sale that could be of any use (machines no longer needed) to help with my engraving please let me know. many many thanks to all you seasoned engravers

say
hi gray i would prefer computerised but not got the funds yet, just starting out, i want to start manual then up to computer. I feel at the moment the manual would be a more hands on as i used to be a panel beater and enjoyed the hands on experience. A bad car accident ended that career so need a sit down job
