Dean
I think I know what you're trying to do... Can't you just draw a rectangle around the very edge of the job... ...Convert to Curves... ...Select the text and the box... ..Infill?

Warren
Dean is right. Hold the CTRL key down while selecting the text, then the outside box then click group and that should fill around the letters
stevecoco
Warren cannot for the life of me understand what you have said. This is what I am trying to do. Imagine a hazard sign yellow triangle with a black border. inside black border the letters EX. I am going to infill engraving with yellow paint but need the letters to be proud to stand out from yellow background.ie not engraved at same depth of 'yellow' background. Simply grabbing and grouping will engrave at same depth. Can this be done or am I wasting my time.

Dean
It might help if you could take a 'printscreen' of the job and paste it onto here so we can see exactly what you mean..
