Stephen
Here in Australia we seem to get only one pin size, brand called Supertaps, unless i am not looking hard enough!,but they fit almost all heels. The ones that spin around, simply give them a good tap against a metal surface and they flatten out and give a firm fit
Pyrite
Sorry Stephen, but here in Australia we do have a variety ... as limited as it is ... * Supataps are the best quality here (and you can get them in the standard or thin pin) * Double Taps (Crap and dodgy....they go brittle very fast) * Strong Foot (Manufactured by Shoemate in Melbourne - not too bad but they are really made for specific styles of heel block and don't trim up too well on the cutters, you have to sand them afterwards. Also with the standard or thin pin) * Topy (mid-range) * and there is another that the name escapes me at the moment available in the slim pin only.... Suppliers that you can get these from are: J A Brooks (Brisbane or Sydney - depends on where you are located) sell Supataps, Double Tap (slowly being fazed out due to quality issues), Topy and the forgotten name one.... Westheimers sell Supataps (I believe that that is the only brand but I don't deal with them often so I cannot be sure) Shoemate sell Strong Foot... Pyrite
Ooops.... And yes, flatten them out and that will do it 90% of the time. You can also use a product called "Flexible heel tubes" which fit over the pin and thicken it out that way.... Cheers
