discodave
you can cut every mortice key on the universal blanks, just not the brass chubbs as some insurance companies use this as an excuse not to pay out.
Mick Friend
I agree any correct gauge mortice blank will cut to the key, I am not familiar with the key but I suspect it has side wards and this is what Timpson 'won't' do it. But did you charge for a new lock? is this an old used lock? why are you fitting a 3 lever lock in a back door when it's clearly not secure and if you have removed a 5 lever BS lock and fitted this 3 lever then you are open to a huge bill if she gets burgled and the insurance decide its your fault - Customers are only ever right if you get a covering signature

Mick Friend
Oh Yeh! what did I not understand about 5 lever? still most of my thread is correct if its non-BS and replaces a BS. and you can cut keys to any mortice even the so called restricted sections -

Guest stefan1xx
Thanks for replys, But did you charge for a new lock? is this an old used lock? why are you fitting a 3 lever lock in a back door when it's clearly not secure and if you have removed a 5 lever BS lock and fitted this 3 lever then you are open to a huge bill if she gets burgled and the insurance decide its your fault - Customers are only ever right if you get a covering signature, i fitted a 5 lever new out of box avocet, she had a non bs 5 lever in door, but has a banham bs 5lever in door as well so she is insurance ok, reason i put avocet in was she did not want me to touch door, as there is an alarm contact at the top of old lock face plate! so it was the only lock i had which was like to like, ive only been doing this 16 years, very fussy and very tight, would not pay to change banham.
