Hi, any one know the blank for 5 lever avcet mortise , cant find in jma book, but looks like union 3 lever, found a old one in my van yesterday and fitted it, after i left the lady called and said she went to timsons and they said they dont do it! I have devon port mortise board in my van, she wants lock changed if she cant get keys cut, which i dont want to do, thanks

I agree any correct gauge mortice blank will cut to the key, I am not familiar with the key but I suspect it has side wards and this is what Timpson 'won't' do it.

But did you charge for a new lock? is this an old used lock? why are you fitting a 3 lever lock in a back door when it's clearly not secure and if you have removed a 5 lever BS lock and fitted this 3 lever then you are open to a huge bill if she gets burgled and the insurance decide its your fault - Customers are only ever right if you get a covering signature

i fitted a 5 lever new out of box avocet, she had a non bs 5 lever in door, but has a banham bs 5lever in door as well so she is insurance ok, reason i put avocet in was she did not want me to touch door, as there is an alarm contact at the top of old lock face plate! so it was the only lock i had which was like to like, ive only been doing this 16 years, very fussy and very tight, would not pay to change banham.
