Guest lee.
Been down this road ourselves , Vac spares shop next door to us closed 3 years ago , we get people in all the time asking where they went , looking mainly for spares for old Vacs, belts etc , i often think it was regular customers like you that kept them in buisness ! . We thought we would have a go ourselves ,intended to put a rack in of popular bags and belts with an order service for other bits ,so did a bit of local research , good job we did , Local Wilkinsons ( Hardware giant ) sells range of Bags and Belts for virtually what we would buy them for , New Asda 5 mins away also has a rack full , people just pick them up with the weekly shop. Bag sales dropped off for our neighbour when Dysons became all the rage , and Henry seems to be very popular now , Argos sell Henry and Bags ( at a good price) , several retail parts specialists have shut up shop and moved online , lower overheads and less stock to physically hold. Can only suggest you do plenty of local research in Supermarkets and Hardware stores , even if only to get an idea of what models seem to be popular in your area ,and the prices they are being sold for , suppliers suggested RRP often bears little resemblance to what the bigger buyers are retailing at . Thorpes
We sell a few vac bags etc, not many. I am sure there must be a niche market to become a specialist in this type of thing, other than the internet there are not many people selling the more obscure items and we are asked quite a lot. BUT finding a decent supplier and more importantly a decent way of indentifying what you need to order is the stumbling block for us.
