Lee
contact the MSA they had some form of epos system on display at the cuttingedge exhibition I seam to recall. My only consideration would be, can you save as much time as it earn's you imputting all the data? you will also need to carry out a stock take at the end of year regardless of what the system tells you. I don't know how these systems work for each & every key that might have a different stock level etc. I would have thought the bench mark would be if a company such as Timpson or Shoecare uses a system & what it is, as these would really know the market as to what the "end user" (your counter assistants) will be willing to put up with & use efficiently Lee

I agree alot of time to spend, But with more staff etc I need to keep one eye on my stock levels etc. Also I am selling few expensive lines and want to make sure they don't just vanish. Danny King
Hi Craig, I thought I wa the only one on here looking into this. Many Thanks Danny
Mick Friend
I had an EPOS system made by a guy in Bristol Avon business systems I recall. Had to input all the stock names and values myself took weeks. But at the end of it it had stock levels, prices both buy in and sell out could increase or decrease price by percentages, it interfaces with the Sage accounts package and yes I have every single key blank listed. Still had to do the stock take and I did not have a bar code reader, but I could have added that. If you have a good volume in turnover it may be worth it but otherwise its a lot of dosh - very nice for account customers producing 3 part invoices on a DM printer and updating thecustomer account - it could also tell you if they were on stop
Danny King
Hi Mick, Yep it is alot of dosh, It is also about control and making sure you get a good profit on every service and every product you sell Also if you have to scan everything you do, customers are less likely to ask for discounts. So you don'y offend them by saying no
