Glenway Products

Recommended Posts

I had the pleasure of having a guided tour round glenway products today & as a customer I have to say I found it really interesting.

Spotlessly clean, well organised & well invested is how I would describe them! Tim Wilford was my guide & mentioning the investment in certain areas, it really made me appriciate the level of involvement it takes to get my orders to me.

The size of the operation was spectacular! huge stock levels, which are picked & packed in a packing department that would put the post office to shame! It amazes me anything ever arrives broken! (that has to be outside their control!) I also noticed how friendly the staff where, the odd ones I made eye contact with all smiled!

I would love to have taken some pictures to show you all, but I didn't have a camera with me, maybe next time! we really don't know what goes on with some of our suppliers which is a shame at times. thanks for the look round Tim.

i had the pleasure of a tour around swatkins a few years back, the thing i was impressed with was the manufacture of silverplated cups. i saw the whole process from spinning the bowls, soldering on handles, plating and polishing. nice to see something of quality still being made in england. also easy to forget how vast and complex these places are when you are moaning about 1 missing item from your delivery

I agree, I'm talking 1's & 2's (singular) & Tim was talking 1's 2's CONTAINER loads!, Tons per day, K's not Pence! Like you Andy with Swatkins to those who are working there day in day out, its easy for them to forget how impressive these places are to THEIR customers.

It would be nice if some of these manufacturers & wholesalers could show us round as a group once in a while, but they never want to get the places open on a sunday!

I would like nothing more thatn to show as many of you would likearound. The problem is however, that there is no one in the factory on a Sunday and it's completely different when the factories quiet.

We have many customers who come and look around when buying and all are impressed, it's much better when you can see the guy's at work and see what goes into producing machines :D

If you do have some spare time during the week though, all are welcome.

Thats what we're all in it for Brad Naylor, I have no problem with the spoils of war!

I know it was a different machine back in the day, But I also looked round the OLD whitfield wylie factory & what I observed sealed the deal on my first new machine after starting up.

I sold my car to buy my first new finisher as it was in the early days & borrowed my Mums Shiny new Toyota Carina to go have a look and promptly ran into the back of a car on the way home, Hero to Zero!

Wholesalers should never underestimate the value of a guided tour.

yes, i saw the lovely cars (and one lovely bike while i was there...) including the aston. And lee its great that you have progressed to the extremely safe galaxy motor - the one that wont go far enough to run into anything else.....

perhaps you should borrow your mums car again, or my van and do a chris on it
