Danny King
Hi, Just bought a Hardo finisher which is 3phase with a converter to single phase. Has anyone had experiance of this? Is there any problems with doing this or anything I should be concerned about? Thanks Danny
Lee
common practice these days, only tip I would have is "if" the converter fails don't panic buy a new one until you have your local rewind company look at it. these often blow capacitors which arn't a lot to replace. Danny King
Thanks Lee What is the best practise with the convertor. Leave it on while you are working or switch it off everytime you stop the machine? Danny
petercoulson
it really depends on the type you have, assuming it was supplied by birch originally it is a motor with a box on top with a red push button. when you turn it on press the red button to boost it for a few seconds then it will happily run, you can turn it off if not being used for a while and restart when you need it or leave it running if you are going back and forth to the machine. when installing make sure you fit it to a supply with a C class breaker rather than the more common B class (c has a slower trip time and the b can sometimes trip wwhen boosting which is a nuisance)
