Ray T.
Hi Just when you think you know better you still goof.Had a pair of Allen Edmonds with the casual soles to be redone and I didn't check them out good.(STUPID ME)Well the welt was loose at the toe on one and a little in the shank area about a inch. When I took it apart the whole welt came almost all the way off. After closer inspection they were re-crafted and new welts were sewn on but most in different holes but when the stitched the sole on it cut threw the welt stitching so when I cut the sole off the melted in my hands.I took the old stitches out out 3 times.Once being the welt then twice the stitching in the channel(chain stitch)then the third being the stitching in the ribbing so I could re- sew the welts in easy. They came out great but thats not the point.I waisted the morning and part of the afternoon getting them ready just for new midsoles. If I would of taken time at the counter like I should off I would of maybe caught the problem and at least of charged more.Life is a lesson well learned.
