jimlondon
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar problem recently. I use Avast antivirus which has allowed me to view postings on the board without any problems at all. Today it suddenly starts telling me that it has found a virus on the page VBS Malware Gen and that I should abort (which I do). Anyone else experiencing this problem or know what's going on? Could be an Avast problem and I've emailed them. Anyone who can shed light appreciated and I'll email Lee.

Lee
I believe the VBS is worm based Virus, The worm collects mail addresses from documents on the infected computer. I would use your virus programs support program to get the correct procedure for removing the worm based virus. Virus’ are written into attachments & sites by programmers, there are NO such virus written into the forum, this is a computer based virus, not internet run. The only way you might possibly get a virus from the forum is by downloading a file from the downloads section & executing its contents. Only ever open a download from a trusted member. You might find your answer on this page http://forum.avast.com/index.php?action=search2 I hope this is of help. Lee

jimlondon
Thanks folks for your help. Turned out to be a problem with an Avast automatic update and Avast have now rectified it. It was wrongly showing as a virus. Panic over! Btw though Avast Antivirus is fantastic, it's free, it works well with Vista and they even provide tech support quickly to free versions. Free versions are just for home use.
