Pinkcoke
"Ray T."I missed this posting altogether and have found it interesting from both sides.I noticed that nobody caught or at least pointed out that those full soled shoes were actually 3/4 spliced under the heel.Is that a normal thing in the UK? I was once told that it was done that way during the war to conserve material.WARS OVER PEOPLE! Ray Torcaso I think this is true, at least I have this period repair on a pair of 1940's shoes. It's interesting that they chose to repair with rubber when it was in shorter supply than leather in Britain during the war.
