Guest Phill
I Have to appologise to SKS on the Yale X5 debate. Had problems today with HD blanks not going in to the keyway. Looks like its not just JMA and Silca having problems. It seems to be a problem with the highest lifts in the cylinder. Somtimes a HD blanks will go in when a Silca blank wont, and like today a JMA blank worked when a HD blank wouldn't

Mark A
Is it really that difficult for the Blank manufacturers to make the tip detail the same as the Genuine blanks? Mark

Technical Tony original
Hi - the silly thing here is now the quality of Yale ! JMA / HD / etc are all coping the keys as best as they can - and JMA I know have re-made the design around 4 times now to get it sport on! Well as far as we did think so . but we have found that even when using genuine Yale keys we can still get these problems - and it looks to be the quality of the yale cylinders now - Guessing made over sea's ... Technical Tony original
Just to add this copied from one of the older posts ..... =================================== Hi - I have found that the Yale locks have dropped their quality alot ! and sometimes the originals work (Just) and the next generation cut - however well your machines are set - just will not work. I had some new locks direct from Yale the other day and had 60 keys to cut ! So I decided to use one of the best machines around - the Silca Bravo Pro. 2 ... none of the keys worked ! in any of the jaws ! I tried the originals - and alot of them when turning the key - I found to be tight and some of them seemed like the pins were grinding inside ! 3 machines later I found a way to make these work - but only just !!! Andy_Davenport
Yes, its down to the quality of the locks. We had a YAX5 returned because it wasnt fitting the customers lock, when tried with our test lock, the blank sailed in no problems. The locks are a little hit and miss.
