ironplanet uk900
Just a thought if you stock Charlie B's Cast brass signs, They come out well engraved if the customer wants something other than numbers. And you can charge extra for it.

Gice us one of your "Photo" tuitorials Rusty brass now that would be a worry Actually when you begin to think about it... If brass did go rusty it could well end up a kind of Whiskey colour.... I hope you're not letting trade secrets slip there...

Gice us one of your "Photo" tuitorials You need a orange band cutter, and it needs to be sharp or it will chip the paint. The text would tarnish in a short time, you would have to either laquer it or do a paint infill (not black paint though ) There is a tutorial on paint infill http://www.shoerepairer.info/bb/viewtop ... =6210#6210
Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
And here's me thinking it was a Cast sign with raised numbers and letters. Doh,

Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
So it's just a Cast blank then that is engraved with the customers details!! How come you dont do that, I would have though a man of your capabilities could obtain blanks and do the engraving in house!! Or is it not as easy as it seems? ironplanet uk900
I do engrave em!!! thats the point I buy the blanks from CB and Engrave em myself......CB probly couldn't do it
Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
I should read with less speed. I thought you said that they come BACK well engraved!! After reading over again I now see that you said the come OUT well Engraved. I could also have thought that you meant that they come out from CBs well Engraved. It dont take much to confuse me Last time I was trying to hand engrave Cast brass I kept hitting shrapnel and getting thrown off course, do you not get imperfections such as air pockets in the cast signs UK? kev
Truth is, I've been really busy over past couple of months! I've managed to get my home internet re-connected now, so I'll be posting much more often, hopefully in response to any of your signmaking queries.
