any body know how to use a whitfield solepress with two knobs on it one is for controlling the pressure fron the compressor then another knob that turns to two positions but also goes around in an endless loop,,it activates the press in some fasion but i cant get the press to stay down, any help appreciated

The knob that goes round endlessly is supposed to click each half turn and bring the pad down and hold it there, another half turn releases it. These knobs often break we replace them with a simple push/pull switch
