Paul_
Just wondering what other people do regarding all the USB ports we need in this day and age. We currently have two engravers, one running on a older desk top with all USB ports used up, the other running from the laptop. This has two USB ports, one has my address label printing machine for post jobs I do, the other has a USB hub in it that holds the main printer, the dongle, the lead to the Gem and the wireless mouse USB. This hub is a pain in the arse and constantly needs rebooting etc. My question is, how do others get around this? I nearly bought another laptop on Saturday with four ports but thought I'd check other ideas first??
Craig Gardner
run a tower and install extra usb cards so you have plenty usb sockets and don't need to rely on a hub or buy a good quality powered hub craig
Paul_
I've just been looking at hubs and ordered a better quality one. Hopefully that will solve the issue.
Mick Friend
I have a D-Link hub here on my desk it is fixed to the shelf with elastic bands and has 7 ports -the lower two are for 'fast charge' but still do data - never had a problem in 2 years. It is powered though and that makes a difference.
Paul_
You are right, from all the reviews I've been reading "powered" is very important. That's what I've ordered, can't wait until it arrives
