3D Group
For most codes like key numbers are held by the manufactorer only and only usually work themselves in working hours. The security side of the manufactorer only work Monday - Friday 9am -5pm to work with dealer parts and service centres. If you are doing out of hours work you will need to pick and decode or strip a lock but when doing out of hours work you charge extra for this service. I am sure if a key number and immo code was available easy 24 hours even more cars would go missing/stolen with all the chinese machines.

rapidlocks
You are correct in that the USA auto locksmiths have access to 24 hour key codes , but not all auto locksmiths have this access , only those that are vetted members of ALOA who have attended enough classes and have passed an exam and are licenced , only these auto locksmiths have this full access , those unlicenced do not have this access , though as always there are some that abuse the system and resell to anyone. but unless properly trained , examined and vetted you dont get this access . the usa industry brought legal action against the manufacturers to get this info , the usa legal system forced this access . some would say a shame we cant do same , but like in the usa too many would abuse the system to make a few quid. when i was at ALOA even the usa auto locksmiths were moaning about the state of the trade , how many codesmiths their was trading , couldnt strip or pick a lock , just buy a code and job done , led to undercutting and traditional skills dying out , so sometimes what you wish for does more harm than good long term.
