Brokkr
I have recently acquired this vintage/antique insole stitcher. unfortunately the maker/model plate has been torn off (was stamped/engraved brass plate located just above lube/wax reservoir) its mckay-landis green but that's all we have to go on. any help would be appreciated I'm a newb so images may not post properly. my apologies if they don't I'll try and fix it

Guest Klazykobbler
parts of that look similar to a "keats and Bexon" blake my ol gaffa use to have ya need Keith or peter to take a look I reckon
petercoulson
I would have to guess that Klazykobbler is right, the plate was below the horn and looks like a K&B although it could be an early Pheonix. The parts on the head look very early, most were more boxy to look at rather than the nodding donkey look to this one.
petercoulson
Brokkr, whereabouts are you, in the US? If so then the answer would be different and might reason the different look to the head, would change answer to it probably being an Landis McKay chain stitcher but I am not so familiar with US models
Brokkr
Hey peter, I'm on the west coast of Canada. I also had someone say it was a Sutton McKay model that was originally sold as a bench top...but there are tooany parts that are below the separation lone (ie- spool holder thing, wax/lube reservoir, etc.) I know one thing, with items this old it could have been flown here from the UK or us...or it might be from a small Canadian manufacturer. petercoulson
Hi Brokkr the more I look at it the less it is UK, Sutton Landis is best bet (Canadian Co?). Like the outsole they made they are very similar to UK models, the K&B blake looks similar and they were also able to be separated to become a table top model.
