autolock
Bit of a long shot ,but would anybody know if i could get a wiring diagram for a whitfield flash activator? not sure of model but it is the larger type with twin tab end 1000watt bulbs.if no diagram could anybody tell me that when the unit is switched on should one bulb stay on permanently and when you press the green flash button the other kicks in on the timer..or should no bulb be on until you activate flash button any help appreciated
petercoulson
When switched on both bulbs should come on low then when boosted both should come on high. There should be a contactor with 3 no ports and 1 nc Port. This switches between series and parallel for the lights. You may have an old contactor with many more ports, this is a pain in the ass We have a wiring diagram but only for new lamps so wiring may be different unless new components are used. autolock
thanks peter this has old dil31r contacter and rs 20 sec timer i think someone has wired incorrectly in past as one bulb comes on permanently and when flashed other comes on
petercoulson
Its the contactor. Probably wired wrong as you say if it was broken that wouldn't happen. You now face a nightmare! The idea though if you are handy with wiring is that initially they run in series to create greater resistance for lower light then parallel when boosted to get brighter.
