Alan
After years of trouble free stitching my 29k71 has decided to stop stitching, I have done the following: changed the needle and centered it made sure it was facing the right way taken a bobbin and shuttle from a working machine and tried that checked and re checked the threading and tension on top and bottom threads changed threads to make sure both are from the same source. and all i get is very neat row of holes, shuttle and needle appear to be working in unison Tried swearing at it and talking sweetly (works with the wife ) but not the 29k suggestions please Alan

Gray
Just too add if your timing has slipped you can adjust it through the hole in the base below the wheel. Slacken off the nut and with a screwdriver move left or right this will move your shuttle to enable it to be set in relation to your needle. Its possible this may have come loose and you have lost the timing. rlj
