Michael
Thinking of upgrading my vistool 6 basic engraving software to version 8 advanced. Anyone use this? Any good? Do you have to pay for extra fonts packages? What is the new "Z profile function" ? Thanks in advance
Guest AndrewJ
Michael I am on version 7 and was going to upgrade to 8 simply to move the machine to a Vista PC. The basic software costs £495. The cost of the upgrade is £395. There is no way I am paying that sort of money for a vista upgrade. I did read in February that a new "Z profile function" was being introduced but could not find any details behind it.
Guest AndrewJ
I stand corrected - there is some documentation on "Z profile function" - it has been renamed as "Depth Profile": U-MARQ Engraving Software comes with a unique and innovative function called "Depth Profile". This enables you to engrave on a curved surface either concave or convex with an even depth of cut and automatic compensation for diameter distortion. The "Depth Profile" function also allows you to engrave a job in one operation on surfaces like a Georgian Tankard, a Champagne Flute and conical objects on a machine without tilting the vice. Guest AndrewJ
Hi Michael Costs I noted above was for either an upgrade (£395) or new installation (£495) - for a GEM FX machine. If you have the Compact / Universal its going to be more - see the following link for the web pricing: http://www.u-marq.com/shop/section/6/1/ ... 00db61735f The upgraded sotware is compatible with XP, 64bit XP and Vista - so you only need the upgrade. The prices on the web are for an upgrade from 7 to 8, so you should check with UMarq what your upgrade path is Cheers Andrew
xmb64
My name is Richard Portas and I am a Director of U-MARQ Ltd. My email address is rpo@u-marq.com, if anyone wishes to email me directly please do so, or I am quite happy to answer questions publically through this Forum. If I may I will answer the posts individually in this one post. Michael26uk. Can you let me know what machine you are running your Vistool 6 basic engraving software, this version was discontinued in 2004. Have you purchased any extras on your software i.e., scanning, font etc. Unfortunately you are not registered as a user with us, therefore I have no details on your company or your machine. AndrewJ The upgrade from version 7 to 8 was free to all users up to September 30th 2007. This was extensively advertised on our website, in the Cutting Edge Magazine and Trophy and Engraving News. Then all versions were on special offer up to March 2008. What machine are you running, have you purchased any extras on your software i.e., scanning, font etc? Unfortunately you are not registered as a user with us, therefore I have no details on your company or your machine. In the next week i.e. by next Thursday 8th I will post on the U-MARQ Forum www.u-marq.com/forum/index.com a complete document outlining our upgrade paths and etc. It will also be available on our main website. As a company U-MARQ Ltd has a policy of open pricing as you will notice from our webshop, so you do not get any surprises when purchasing from us. If you have any specific questions please feel free to email me directly.
