Hi all

I have a gem engraving machine im having problems oppening eps files and ai files do i need some diffrent software to open them on my pc or do i need to upgrade the software on the machine hope some one can help this is driving me round the bend now

Is this Visual toolbox software?

Have you tried "importing" instead of "opening"

My visual toolbox software is quite old now and is for the Universal,but should be basically the same.Sometimes when I import images they come out upside down and distorted.I open them in Adobe Illustrator 10 then save as Illustrator eps,then import using vistool,this normally works for me.

you should be able to import ai files into visualtoolbox (but will only be shown as a line drawing)

toolbox does not open eps

you need something like corel draw or adobe to view properly

thanks 26uk that really does help will give me something to try later when i set it all back up

I always import AI eps files, work fine for me!!!

I have more problems with normal AI files.

i think my poblem is that i need to upgrade my adobe 8 to 10 and it should work hopefully

yes will open ai eps but not eps done on other programs

i use corel mainly so save as wmf that works for me (most of the time)

theres to many file formats but thats another story
