Guest Marcell
I gota chance to repair an Italian shoe. I am not a repairer (I have a few years experience from the last), I make new shoes (here is my work, if someone wouldn't know me: http://youtube.com/watch?v=hhM8ydArWnM ) I don't know what about the other brands, but that shoe - which was actually a very expensive one - quality was very poor. Now I would like to ask you about your experience about Italian shoes. (I mean machine-made expensive ones.)
Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
I only wear the top makes Marcell but the best by far has to be a very fine Italian ankle boot, cemented construction with Box Calf Uppers and an ultra fine Leather sole 1.5mm at the edge. Almost too good to wear in the British weather. I would only wear them in the summer months and they lasted 12 years, I salmost cried when i had to get rid of them due to the uppers perishing. Guest Marcell
I am wondering: nobody repairs italian shoes or nobody has opinion about them? So please answer: what do you think about these shoes?
Guest jamesstratton
maybe to express the opinions people have about italian shoes go against the rules of the forum?
Lee
Expressing an opinion doesn't go against the sites terms and conditions, provided any comments can be substantiated. its a publications grey area & one which I prefer to steer clear of! Best to generalise, any way why buy Italian when you can buy "British" Lee
Jay
personally i wouldn't buy a pair of italian shoes, theyre usually complete crap IMO. talking about quality though.... has anyone ever repaired a pair of 'samuel windsor' shoes? now they are garbage! The welt stitches on these must be over an inch long per stitch & are always falling to bits when they come in the shop
ironplanet uk900
I am not a fan of Italian shoes, Too lightweight, and the leather is normally substandard. Most have cardboard insoles, compressed cardboard heel blocks and they don't look good for very long. English made shoes are usually far superior.
