PhilThailand
Hi everyone I live and work as a teacher in Bangkok, Thailand. I am interested in starting a new business doing pet tags at market stalls in Bangkok. But, I have no idea what engraving machine I require. I have seen some mini cnc engraving machines on ebay such as 3 AXIS 3040T-DQ CNC ROUTER ENGRAVER that are a good price, but I don't know if they are appropiate. Any help and advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks Phil
Marino
Hi Phil, we don't use CNC standard machine here, but specific engraving machine using a specific software optimized for quick engraving jobs. in the engraving business the engravable fonts (2-3-4 lineas) are the clue, you must look at Gravograph or Roland or umarq to have better idea. PhilThailand
Hi Marino, are there cheaper options other than those companies because they don't have much for less than £3000? as that's a lot of money for a poor english teacher in Thailand, and I have no idea if Thai's are gonna be interested. Thanks for your reply, and I really appreciate your help. Phil
key cabin
Hi Phil, Let me give you some advice that could save you a lot of money. Before buying an engraving machine do some market research, how many people have dogs, how many people will buy a tag for their dog, are there any other pet tag engravers around the area you are going to cover, how much do they charge, how much are you going to charge? All questions that are going to ascertain whether it is a viable business. As for engraving machines, you cannot do any better (in my opinion) than the u-marq gem cx5, not cheap(but none of them are) but very robust and reliable, just sit down and see how long it would take to repay the machine off.
