Cordonnerie Francoeur
Hi there, We are in the process of openning a home based shoe repair business in our garage. The wood stove needs to be removed and replaced with another type of heating but the insurance company will not allow a sealed flame propane unit recommended by the heating store. They will only insure if we use electric heat or an outside wood boiler system. I am wondering what type of heating other home based cobblers use. thanks Sylvie Francoeur Cordonnerie Francoeur Shoe Repair, Ontario Canada
petercoulson
Bonjour & welcome, there arent too many home based cobblers in the UK but I do know that commercial insurance here is the same, they will not insure you if you have 'naked flame' heating like a propane blower so our unit uses an industrial roof mounted gas heater that is serviced yearly and electric backup heating. Cordonnerie Francoeur
Thanks for your reply Peter, Our insurance has accepted the Reznor sealed flame propane unit we suggested. We are very happy with this, otherwise we might of had to make major changes to our home heating. thanks again Sylvie, Canada
