chrisorros
I'm looking to improve my skills as a cobbler and learn how to cut the pattern for the upper. Or in short to be able to make a pair of shoes from scratch. I work for a small family bussiness and learn my trade from some very skilled reapirers over the years and learn ten ways to do every job. But I have been running a branch on my tod for 5 years now and i don't have anybody to learn pattern cutting from. (Tissues & Voilin moment ) So i'm looking to go on an evening / day release course as the company has been good to me and i would if possablie like to work hear as i learn, and the morgate won't pay itself no matter how hard i try. Any ideas or suggtions on where the best place to go? Or the best people to speak to. The best course I can find is linked below. Please have a look at the link and tell me what you think. I have spoken to john lobbs and they were kind enough to let me come and have a look around the factory. (Haven't done this yet but why not see how the best do it) http://www.fashion.arts.ac.uk/shortcour ... n-cutting/
Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
Surprised no one has relied to this. Where are you based? and do you still need the course?.
chrisorros
Based in essex near stansted airport. Still looking a courses. Just want to see if anybody knew of better suited course for someone who's been in the trade for a sometime now. I don't really need the course as i could stick with repairing engraving ect ect as we all do but if you stay still for to long your become stail. So i'm looking at different areas to improve the services i provide. I think making shoes by hand to messure in branch is the way to go. Thank you for reply hugh.
