Forest Cobbler Posted December 31, 2009 Report Share Posted December 31, 2009 Well you're right that it would be a thin metal bar, actually the same thing in both cases, just that one is longer than the other. I expect that the metal spring that Gravograph have sent is the up to date way of doing the same job, also as it's sprung it is less likely to get lost if you take the machine apart to clean it, which is what I assume you've done. Certainly we always had to make sure we kept track of them when we had a TXL (and the little brass bits that went between them and the threaded rods). I don't imagine that Gravograph consider these to be 'spare parts' as such, so I can't see that any would have some knocking about. Are you sure that you have put the sprung steel replacement on the right way up? I'm pretty sure there is a right and wrong way. It may be that with use it will loosen up a bit. Good luck.
