Aged sole glue failure

Recommended Posts

Hey all. So on the weekend I decided to wear these shoes which I honestly don't think I would have worn more than once in the last 10 years. Lo and behold they didn't last long before the soles came off, see attached, and this happened on both. On the box it states that the soles are 'man made' and I can't garner any further info on that, the shoe itself is stated as being leather. The soles do have a good bit of flexion in them but I can't say for certain what type of rubber they may be, however now I have the issue of needing to reattach them. I've looked over the threads here and was wondering what people thought on tackling it with some Renia Glue Primer then Bostik 5050 or 6092? Obviously I don't want this to be a repeated exercise so want something that will last the duration of the shoes' life.
