Jeff
Hello fellow key cutters/ shoe repairers. This is my experience with starting Paxton key cloning as one of my services, I have a shoe repair/key cutting shop in Glasgow. I purchased the Paxton cloning device from NW KEYS for £466.80 on the second week this August and it arrived a couple of days later, everything seemed fine and was happy to introduce a new service for my customers. Replacement fobs are £9.42 from NW KEYS, out of curiosity I went onto eBay to see if I could purchase the blank Paxton fobs at a more competitive price, I noticed a seller selling 20 fobs for £56 or £2.80 each with no VAT. I thought it was to good to be true as you would being almost £7 cheaper. So I contacted the seller to make sure they were compatible with my cloner and told the seller I had already purchased the cloner and only required fobs. This is were this gets really interesting! And not in a good way. The seller responded immediately with this message, I shall cut and paste from eBay. Also he sells the cloner with 10 Paxton fobs for £249. Hi STOP STOP STOP DON'T ORDER FOBS. The NW KEYS version of PX1 only uses fobs supplied by them (rip-off). PX1 Opentag that we supply has replaced both PX1 (NW Keys) and PX2 (Keyprint) . Now the PX1 Opentag can clone to any standard fobs or cards without limitation. Have you had the PX1 long? I am the designer and manufacturer of all PX1/ PX2 versions of the cloner. Until end 2023, the cloners were sold through distributors but the selling price and monopoly they created with fobs was ridiculous. They said the re-configuration of the fobs was a security measure, that has been proven to be way of controlling the fobs to their great benefit. The distribution agreements were terminated end of 2023, then we started selling the "Opentag" version directly to the market. The Opentag uses standard Paxton fobs and cards, you can buy them anywhere. It clones all Paxton fobs and cards to any other Paxton fob or card, simples!. It also clones GDX Indigo fobs to any Paxton fob or card. return product and If they try charging you a £100+ re-stocking charge, tell them you will report their deliberately created monopoly to the Monopolies and Mergers Commission, what they have done is against the law. I do not supply the distributors with their "doctored" fobs, they themselves, re-configure standard Paxton fobs to tie you in. So that is what I done, I sent back to NW KEYS same day as I received 1st class with tracking to get a speedy refund. It took over a week to get my refund and when I received it lo and behold to my horror they actually had CHARGED ME £100 RESTOCKING CHARGE. I have tried with emails to try and get back RESTOCKING CHARGE but no. So beware buying from NW KEYS, Crooked company loosing customers for being greedy. I am now going to forward this to the MONOPOLIES AND MERGERS COMMISSION. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Regards, Jeff.
Count Muppet
There was a member on here that invented an early model maybe the same guy?
Paxton-Fobs
If this is the early model you were thinking of....... TDF1 TDF1 was not invented or manufactured by the person who sold it. It is no more than a development PCB housed in a 3D printed plastic case. The PCB, software and case were supplied by Eccel in Poland. NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH: Retag UK, the designer and manufacturer of the PX1/2 range, it has nothing to do with the TDF1. Happy Dude
