grahamparker
Ring Advanced Diagnostics to see if you can speak to Lee or Matt they will be able to answer you problem. Usually happens if you remove the original key when warned not to.

rapidlocks
Ive not heard of this happening with cloning on these ford chips The good news is if no joy then straight forward enough to either plug in and recode by obd or fit new chips and code by obd id also consider testing the customers tranciever ring around the ignition as is another common issue , these can have intermittent issues before going fully . As im not very trusting of the public i assume you tested the key starts the engine prior to cloning it ? If you have a tool like kdx2 you can test the tranciever very easily and quickly . da miller

da miller
must agree ignition fault should always test key and remote before copying key GLENGRAVING
rapidlocks
however in this case the OP states it didnt fail, no fail message , it read , wrote and said succesfull . i dont think ive ever cloned one of these , obd is so straight forward with most tools , add key without affecting existing keys and tools like truecode do these fiesta in just a minute or so . these fiesta suffer from tranciever issues , also ignition switch issues are not uncommon , also watch out for the bling ring stuck on column around the ignition as interferes too. even if cloning is all you do , for the few minutes it takes , its good practice to always check the key starts before cloning or case changing , a tool like kdx2 with your phone is ideal for checking the tranciever , takes a minute only and can save grief. my son used to work for timsons , a chap came in swearing and abusing him because he had a battery change on his mercedes key and now key doesnt work , when told that this was not the case as only he had been on and did no mercedes key , the chap said it was the other fella , he works alone but has cctv as in a supermarket foyer the chap said another branch and left. people will try it on if they can get a free repair. RW4 has always been reliable , though these days with silca nothing would surprise me.
grant85
Hi all , all sorted , a local guy I know came to the rescue & plugged in & coded new chip , yes no error message & procedure went through smoothly on the RW4 , we had a good chat about it & he did explain , there should be no problem with RW4 really ! Panic over all over within a hour , didn’t charge me , so massive Thankyou to Simon for saving me
cobblers.keys
Is it possible for this problem to happen by just taking the existing fiesta key battery out and replacing it with a new one? Also reading this topic makes me feel like not to touch fiesta keys with only having the rw4 plus and mbox. Is this being over cautious?
