Setup both of your keys ready to cut, then pull down the tracer on to an uncut part of the original, then unscrew and let the tracer drop down on to the corresponding part of the blank to be cut. That should be good to go but I always then just unscrew the tracer whilst holding down and there may be a slight bit of give, then tighten up. Hope that makes sense
