Stuart Eccleston
Can anyone guide me how to set up my mustang machine please? i am not talking about the height of both the tracer and cutter , I'm talking about the backwards and forwards movement, The tracer is hitting the tip of the blank before the cutter almost as if the key blank is shorter than the key i am duplicating , i have looked at videos etc but they only show a re-calibration setup. i have already been told i should be able to know this, and i do not need help, but unfortunately i do need help , as i have got to add key cutting onto my locksmith business to top up my income as the £39 boys are nicking my work! thanks guys rst nustang video.mp4
exp121260
More likely a key blank issue , if the blank is a Chinese copy. Try 2 key blanks without shoulder ( like VA2), level both with a key stop on the tip and try to do the same again, see of still one shorter than the other. Count Muppet
You’ve got major issues with that machine you can see from your other post ive never seen one so bad so not sure how you’ll fix it. Looks like it took a fall down some stairs maybe a full strip down and rebuild would help?

Trev
It looks like it has the same problem as the other one. Stuart Eccleston
Trev
The calibration you are talking about is something that I would expect to be done in the factory when new and should never need adjustment. Obviously if dropped down the stairs or similar then to re-align the machine will require spanners and some experience with mechanical repairs. I suspect if you have the correct tools then it would be fairly easy to re-align, although you may have trouble undoing the nuts/bolts as they will almost certainly have loctite on them. The Worksop Heel Bar
try adjusting the 2 bolts under the carriage. take the drawer out first and see if adjusting these helps the alignment
