KA2 blanks are only really for Kaba 8 keys, the Kaba 20 blanks have a ramp on the tip of the key, they can be left- or right-sided ramps. There are pins either side in the lock, but one side has pointed pins, the other have flat pins which need that ramp. You can create that ramp on the tip but boy is it frustrating, got to get it square otherwise the pins just dig into it, and polish it up, got to get it just right depth or it won't work, and correct slope angle otherwise it eats into the last key cut. This is why Kaba 8 blanks don't fit. If you absolutely must, you can do it, but I wouldn't offer it as a service.

Sorry but that’s not correct, KA2 are Kaba 20 keys but the original Kaba 20. They have made changes to the cylinders to stop those blanks working. Kaba Then or just before brought out Silca to make sure they are still the only ones who cut the keys for there most successfully cylinder.

Silca will never admit it but they are not aloud to do another Kaba 20 card or change the blanks.

Lol, JMA might give this blank a go then :-). Is the cutting detail different for the slivered blanks?

You can tell by the tip, older style is shaped so equal on the nose the newer version is more sloped on each side. You can adjust but it’s just agg and inconsistent personally for the cost of the blanks not worth the risk. Got a few that worked after adapting the tips but then still had a few that didn’t.

if you give them a normal blank or miss cut key blank and see if it goes in. If it goes in older style fine to cut, if it doesn’t just order direct.
