Yale ABE dimple/track series (Yale 2000 Plus)

It seems the blank does not go into the key hole. Could this be due to the unusual rounding at the tip of the cut key? I am wondering if the tenants did that in a bid to get the key to work.

To me, blank looks perfect, it should really go in.

Any suggestions?

Maybe with a bit of filing to the edges of the deepest groove on each side it might work, but as standard it won't fit in the keyway (at least that is the case with the Silca SCH1R tried in a Yale 2000 Plus ABC). Re-cutting the groove on a manual key cutting machine might also work - although however you do it I presume it would be going against the patent on the keys.

For future reference a Y2000 ABC blank doesn't fit in a Yale 2000 plus ABC cylinder and therefore I presume the same would be the case for the Y2000 ABE blank in a Yale 2000 plus ABE cylinder

Although they look very similar, the three grooves cut into the Yale 2000 plus keys are wider and deeper and although I'm not sure it makes any difference the blanks are also 0.04mm thicker.
