Looking for a machine to cut mortice rim keys (but not copying) I need to be able to make the cuts on all 3 edges of the bit (I don't know the correct terminology). & be able to buy new cutters, etc. But probably more important, a bit of demo on how to actually use it & the opportunity to ask some general key related questions. Bit limited on travelling distance for the next few weeks. Thanks

JC2017
I used to own a Edwardian cottage outside of Bristol which had rim locks on the doors. I bought 2 bulk lots of old rim lock keys off ebay. Managed to find one to fit each door and sold the rest. Not saying that method would work each time for you but a lot of rim locks take similar keys if they're from the same era.

Thanks, That's sort of what I've been doing since my guy retired, luckily I came into 1000s of 1800s keys some time ago. I've been running short on the popular gauges & doing more and more restoration work, so I've been buying blanks and doing them by hand. Easy enough for the simple ones, the more complicated ones are a right pain, especially if I need to do quite a few. The better quality Viccy stuff can be all different, I can get 10 identical locks, 10 different keys.
