completelocks
Hi guys. Getting to grips with my Lazer machine still. Doing dog tags, trophies etc. Can I ask what advantage I would gain from buying a CO2 machine too? Is there a massive difference in what it will engrave on? Thinking if doing car boot sales. Paul_
What machine do you currently have? A CO2 will engrave leather, wood, coated metals, cardboard and laserable laminate. I wouldn't recommend running any machine from a generator (at a boot sale) but that's just my opinion. Paul completelocks
completelocks
I have been using a generator to power my whole shop apart from heater and mains lights. It's a good one obviously. Never had any issues, apart from seriously reducing my electric bills.... saves a couple of hundred quid a month

Will be ok if you use a really good quality inverter generator. Basic generators can damage sensetive equipment. completelocks and Paul_

completelocks
ok.. so looking at engraving flat glass, plastic tags, small wood plaques etc, would something for around 500 - 600 be ok to start off, learn etc?
JamesST
Tricky one. I would advise to save a bit more and go for a more well known brand like gravograph / epilog second hand. Better built, better software and more help available for them. The cheaper ones work but if you are looking at it as long term investment then go for something more capable and reliable. It will open up a whole new world of options for you.
