Vice handles for a Jakey 681.

Hi all.Would anyone know where we could get a pair of lever handles for an old Jakey 681?We've had it lying around for years,but could now make use of it.We've tried an 8mm metric nut on the spindles,but it only goes on a couple of turns.My guess is that it's an old 5/16" thread.TIA
