Sarah Wise
"Royal Mail is shaking up the rules on stamps, so if you've got a stash with the Queen's head on them that say '1st' or '2nd' class, or any other price – or they're Christmas-themed – then by 31 January 2023 you'll no longer be able to simply stick 'em on a letter and use them. That's because Royal Mail is moving to a new system using barcodes, which those stamps don't have on them." https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2022/02/anyone-with-stacks-of-stamps-at-home-has-less-than-one-year-to-u/ Mike at Vauxhall and CitySafe

keithm
But you probably use them in one mail out Mick right?
Sarah Wise
Perhaps Keith, ... We know now to get that potential 1 mail out done before Feb 1st next year. Imagine the of being a few days too late and ending up 85 quid down . I'd end up being even more ££ down, as I'd have to go to the pub to get over the shock! kobblers

Sarah Wise
Just had a peek on the Royal Mail website. They have extended the cut off date. "Regular stamps without a barcode* will no longer be valid after 31 July 2023. This follows the introduction of a 6 month grace period from the initial 31 January deadline. You can either use up your non-barcoded stamps before this new deadline or swap them for the new barcoded ones." keithm
