cobblers.keys
I have just had an order for some magnum yale keys now I need to order more blanks from aldridge. What is the difference between the ys3 kb 43 and yl cyl kb3a? Thanks again
Azaloid
KB3A is patented with a different tip and profile, the numbers on the card will be PD, PE and PF. The one in the picture is the old non patented version and the numbers on the card will be D,E and F so you can use copy blanks. cobblers.keys
almeriasecure
The KB3A is engraved with z12b. For more clarity see a previous post by the ever helpful technical Tony who has previously posted useful information on July 29th on this forum. cobblers.keys
cobblers.keys
The original blanks I used has 11A stamped on. So to clarify which blank should I be ordering as an ''original mag1''?
Azaloid
For the 11A you can use anything like the YL PLT KEY which is the genuine JMA reference or you can use again JMA references copy blanks like YA-281D or MAG-2D.P cobblers.keys
Forest Cobbler
We have just had a key brought in that has the same profile as the first photo on this strand, but the only short blanks we have in stock are the Z12B ones, which have the extra groove. Would that still fit the lock? Thanks, Valerie

grahamparker
There is a list on here that Technical Tony has uploaded many times. Try and find it and print a copy there are many variations of yale/magnum keys now.
Forest Cobbler
Ok. The customer was hoping to have another short one like her original, rather than the extra length of the YA-281D. I'll print off Tony's list. Thanks, Valerie
grahamparker
You could just buy Genuine blanks then your guaranteed the same length just add the extra onto the price. We offer copies slightly cheaper than genuine, 90% take the cheapest option.
