I now have 3 local Upvc companies actively removing these locks and binning them and fitting other locks instead.

not surprised - this is a poor service to offer - are they trying to steal peoples business by getting them direct to them?

(as Glenway did years ago)

Certainly seems that way, they had bought 2 Silca Protech machines late last year and they are not cheap machines i believe they start at £80k each.

Genuine blanks only and restricted issue dependant on how many cylinders you purchase.

I am currently allowed 2 blanks only for every lock i buy.

This is a really odd practice, potentially not being able to offer a customer multiple copies of keys isn't great I can see why companies would be unwilling to sell the locks on this basis. Do you ration key blanks, risk upsetting customers at not being able to provide keys there and then because they're going to cut into your supply.

I suppose if you're buying hundreds of cylinders a month it's not an issue, but I certainly wouldn't be overly pleased at buying thousands of pounds of stock and then being told I'm limited with key blanks.

Brisant have certainly ruffled a few feathers with restricting the blanks. They told me that initially they were going to try it for 6 months then review it but who knows. Simes if you need any cutting email my shop and we can do them and post them out for you as we have plenty of blanks shop@apllocksmiths.co.uk

If it was sold as a restricted system then fair enough, but to be putting these locks on doors as standard and then restricting key blanks leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Customers don't want a front door key they need to send away for, they want to get one cut. Unless like I say they've specifically requested a registered key, but the Brisant system is sort of half and half isn't it and doesn't really please anyone

I believe Ultion(brisant) are the only company out there offering a 2K guarantee.

As an Ultion agent, we do OK and dont have a problem dealing with them.

Same here mate. Never had any problems at all and service and pricing has always been spot on. We buy a lot of cylinders and last count I had about 800 blanks I could order and have a couple of hundred in stock already.
