key machine maintenance and cutter changes.

hi..does anyone know of a good key machine maintenance person?..i always used craig at charles birch. was so helpful. preferably in the manchester area. many thanks.

IMHO, there is not much maintenance to carry out on any key machine other than a little lubrication, regular checks on alignment, I used to do mine weekly, plus regular changing of the cutter wheel, I did mine annually. All the info you need will be in the manual and should not be difficult for a competent person.

Cutting wheel once a year?

I suppose it depends how many keys you cut and the quality of the cutter

I change roughly every 8 weeks.

I don’t have to pay for them though

You are busier than most Graham!

 

I used to do around £500 pw on keys around 19 years ago.
