cobblers.keys
I am looking into updating my mortice machine. My current machine is a lancer plus and is at least 15 years old. Any suggestions on an update would be appreciated. Thanks again

grahamparker
As Above unless you can get hold of an old Blade Vectis the only machine better than a Lancer ( I have 3 and a Lancer).

The fact i still use mine every single working day tells you how great a machine it was our main machine must have cut well over 1 million keys. If produced today the cost would be well over 5k. grahamparker
New cutter 1 key takes 30 seconds or less. It’s so accurate. On reflection I think it’s done way more than the million.

cobblers.keys
My lancer looks to be on its last legs. I have put a new cutter on it Saturday but come to use it this morning and the red light/switch turns on but when I press the black switch on the handle nothing happens. Any ideas? Thanks again

grahamparker
Make sure the 3 pin connector is pushed in fully they can come lose if you move the machine on the counter top for cleaning. Check the fuse as well just under the connector where the lead plugs in at lot of people do not realise it is there. Download a manual if you do not have one and finally if your still stuck ring Matt @ Silca uk.

The Blade super was no where near the same quality as the vectis, they tried to save money on manufacturing but it never really worked as well. We had one from new but got rid after a few years when i managed to find another Vectis. These photos are of mine 2 in daily working use and our original machine now in bits as it is used for spares (all manufactured in the early 80's). exp121260
