Accruing Holiday whilst on furlough

Recommended Posts

We are a fairly small company and we will be relaxed about holidays I can't see there being much work for the near future anyway but St John Ambulance which has around 2000 employees is asking for those on furlough to take holiday days as a gesture but can't enforce it they can though carry up to 10 days over to next year as well to help when business starts returning.

I was never bored while I was off but kept hearing others say how bored they are.

now they’re back at work in dead shops they’ve found out what boredom really is

I was severly bored sat at home could not wait to get back.

No dead shop for us we have just had the best 7 week trading period in the last 20 years it has been insane, i only managed 3 weeks on my own and had to ask my employee to return from furlough as i could not cope.

Even with all the Timspsons (4 within 5 miles) and all the others now open (last count there are 15 other key cutters within a 5 miles radius) we are still busier than ever, My brand new Triax Pro is earning it's money back already.

Been coming in at 7.00am and working till 7pm some days so i guess we are very very lucky.

I always feel you're on a different level, certainly from me, and I'm sure a lot on the forum. You must do really well on recommendations from the other key cutters, because of the range of keys you can do.

Thanks for that it is always nice to be appreciated and i always try to never take it for granted.

I always try to buy the best machinery and NEVER turn any key away unless its restricted/patented and even then i will do my utmost to point the customer in the right direction or obtain the key on there behalf.

Had a call from a guy in Dubai looking for some keys to be cut yesterday.
