grahamparker
Just had an email from Swatkins and it mentions payment will now have to be made with the order even for trade account customers. I would guess this means they are struggling with some customer paying what they owe. Just got me thinking how many other suppliers may be in the same boat (I paid all my trade accounts straight after lockdown). Hope this is just a one off because of Covid-19. exp121260
Lee
i was the same, paid everyone then closed. but if they then went 2 months with few orders and have to wait another month or two for people to pay them on fresh invoices it would be hard for any company! it will take a while for everyone to get back to normal. exp121260
Same here, paid all my suppliers the day after lock down. Did Freeze the rent until I received the grant ( with agreement with the landlord) If one supplier closes down , means price increase by the remaining suppliers ! Not good for us in the trade ! There's different ways of looking at that, we have taken the stance that if a customer was good for credit before then we will extend the credit to them after. Everyone is in the same situation more or less just probably different depths of struggling but that's what the government has given all the help for. If they are short of cash wonder if they offer a little discount for payment up front as an incentive?
