kirkybob
I know you can not patent a number which is why Intel started some years ago to give their chips names, and I doubt you can patent letters but you can patent names. But I dont know about copywrite which is i think the way Brisant are going due to the very expensive process of patents. But then thats just me guessing. Bare in mind, if you supply copy keys to these cyl's and the customer uses them, the 1K guarantee is void. Plus the customer loose's any restriction they may have put on the copying of keys. To activate your guarantee just complete this claim form within 28 days of installation. Only use genuine Ultion keys. Claims must be returned within 14 days of the incident. I'm not sure how locking the cylinder with a genuine original or non original key can affect the above statement! It's a get out clause same as the guarentee is invalid if you use a lock lubricant like Abus PS88 or Kaba lock cleaner as they state you have to use Graphite powder ONLY. k4mrc
New policy we cut keys - if they don't work we insist on having proof that the lock was fully operating before hand and cleaned and serviced annually - without proper evidence of this there is no warranty or refunds etc LOL exp121260

Silca seem to be moving away from the core work of key blanks and diversifying into all sorts of other revenue streams and if not careful will lose many long standing loyal customers if they are not careful. Prices of blanks which has never bothered me in the last 30 years is now starting to become a concern for me and i am now looking at other suppliers.
