That's been mentioned before on here and it was pointed out that if our suppliers started to lose sales on repair materials, they would increase their prices on everything else to make up the shortfall in profits so we wouldn't gain in the long term. Rick. And since we said that they have put the prices up anyway.
kobblers
That could be just organic market forces and nothing to do with Brexit. Things rarely go down in price unless it's an offer. Rick.

Sounds easy, in fact very difficult. First you would have to define who the "we" is,( you can count me out) a few people would do a lot of work only to see it collapse after a few months, I've seen it tried so many times and never seen it come to anything worthwhile. Why don't you give it a go?

As it turns out my keys wholesaler Andy AKS has started bringing in certain shoe repair stuff from Belgium. Colemans I think he said. I went there for an open day once. Very impressive. Seems to be ok price and quality defo there. Last time he was in he sold me some Palc shoe shine which I hadnt seen for a few years. Used to be a big seller for me. Brave move from him but kind of get it as he tells me that over half his customers are shoe repairers. If Andy plays it right and he gets new customers for shoe stuff he can start selling them keys as well. If its anything like the service he gives me on the key cutting side from his van then he may do ok

Which doesn't mean that some Companies won't I'm sure the blue chip Corporate's out there will want or need or even have to put tariffs on, but small bespoke industries may fall under the radar, here's hoping!
