Cutters for Yale/Magnum keys.

Recommended Posts

Hi lads I am using genuine Yale Superiour key blanks on the Silca Matrix SLX but finding the blanks very hard and it’s blunting the new cutters very quickly. Anyone use different cutters that last longer especially the track cutter.

I would rather use the original blanks if possible I know Silca blanks and other manfuctures blanks are softer.

I also use the Triax but would not use the genuine blanks they destroy cutters.

The Silca/Keyline and JMA blanks all cut lovely and i can cut a good 4/500 before i worry about changing the cutters.

I prefer cutting originals, I've got 5 left but will be using the JMA ones I have in stock after and won't be getting originals again!!

BTW, what is the code for the Silca blanks, is it MGN1RP?

I'd prefer a blank that looks similar to the original at least!!
