'Onest Andy
Hi all, Looking for some advice with regard to a 2013 JCB mini digger. A family member has contacted me to ask if it's possible to supply a key for this vehicle without an existing key to copy. One of his workforce has lost it's key which we know to be chipped. JCB are asking for a stupid amount of money to sort it out. Just wondering if anyone out there knows of a way to get over this. Hoping someone can help Cheers Andy
grahamparker
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JCB-Immobiliser-Key-332-C7608-/332356175482?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368 Not come across these yet so don't know what chip is fitted. Dealers may not be able to program in a new key without a working key to start with. I would claim on the insurance if they are quoting stupid ammounts of money. 'Onest Andy
Thanks for the input there Fellas...So we can obtain a key which by the looks of things will operate the lock. Next question is how do we program it, as we do not have another key to clone? Does anyone know if it's possible to access the vehicles ECU with the correct equipment and do this? JCB are basically saying it's going to need a new ECU and immobiliser system which apparently involves removing the cab of the digger to get to it. It must surely have a diagnostic port which would allow key programming.

If they are saying it needs a new ECU then it does not have the option to add keys via OBD, how much is the ECU and immo system?..................if its £1000's then might be worth taking them out and seeing what system its using by looking at the labels, could be a way to introduce keys by another method..................where is this vehicle?
