NYKeys
Hello Spoke to M Marcus just now about a key I'm trying to order the correct blanks for. I also understand that there are issues around blanks from certain manufacturers working and ones from others not. Blank ref: 99, J1050, 106. Apparently registered to Ian Firth Hardware. Apparently (according to M Marcus) it's an R11 section. Any ideas what blank and from which manufacturer I should order?! thanks!!
Chris @ IKS
Usually cut on a Silca IE14 / JMA IS14D. We stock Silca and haven't had any complaints. Chris
NYKeys
Thanks Chris. Even allowing for the different manufacturer references, everyone seems to say cut R11 on different blanks!
Lock Stock
You need to use Silca IE-26 on these. Its not R11 But you do cut them on Silca under card for R11-MK

This is kind of what I mean. I've got the distributor saying it's an R11 and then you (and I do trust you) saying it's not R11. Really hard to wrap my head around. I'll look out for IE-26. I'm manually cutting.

I've only got JMA IS-10 which is supposedly equivalent to Silca IE-26. Any ideas if these these should work/not work? From memory I'm sure I've had they won't go in the lock... NYKeys
Usually cut on a Silca IE14 / JMA IS14D. For the benefit of any future forum readers, this is (unfortunately) wrong - it's IS-10 JMA or Silca IE-26 for these keys.
Chris @ IKS
By the look of the replies above it was not an R11. Iseo R11's definitely use IE14, as a Silca distributor we have supplied several hundred of them with no complaints. It's sounds like the key was just cut on the R11 card should you be using a Futura etc. Chris

Chris @ IKS
Does anyone ever complain about key blanks? If they don't work or we have recommended the wrong blank then we are usually the first to know about it. Are you saying that if you buy something from a supplier and it doesn't work / isn't fit for purpose you just happily pay for it?

Hi Chris, in the 25/6 years I have always 'took it on the chin' but if I order the wrong key blank ( picking the wrong shape) - usual it's my fault and I keep them,. however if the key blanks are poor quality it's a different thing. Mike at Vauxhall
Had a problem a few years back with a batch of HD Yale blanks. SKS ref ya39. HD ref BS1, I just took it as obviously that stands for "BullShit no 1". Broms Cobb
