The Worksop Heel Bar
Has anyone had any experience cutting the Ultion keys on a RST Mustang? Getting these keys in and just wanted to know of any problems people have had Cheers
grahamparker
I tried and they are very tricky to get right. Don't use copy blanks even the Silca copies don't fit very well. I have got the cutter for my Triax and also have the codes unlocked so i have no need to copy them anyore.
keysinthecity
Hmm making me wonder whether I should be buying a Triax after all instead of a Mustang if the Ultion is going to be a popular cylinder...
almeriasecure
I have the Mustang and was hit and miss duplicating the Ultion until I contacted Brisant and got the correct guide and cutter from them. Mow cutting them is so simple & right first time, every time.
The Worksop Heel Bar
How much did they ask for the cutter and guide?
almeriasecure
I dont know what it cost because of the amount of business I do with Brisant they 'chucked it in' Why not give them a call & ask the cost.
The Worksop Heel Bar
Just spoke to Brisant. They wouldn't give me any information on how to cut the keys unless I purchased 30 cylinders from them and they also wouldn't supply any blanks either. grahamparker
Got some, managed to manipulate the cards by adjusting the depth on the Y axis to get them to work when using the Triax, if you pushed they key in hard they would not work so it might be a blank issue with the way the end is profiled. Picked up a genuine and they worked straight away. I have tried 5 Silca BRS1R and non fitted well (which is unusual for Silca) but every key i have cut on genuine blanks works a treat first time without any modification to the cutting card. Genuine blanks are a hell of a lot cheaper as well. If you read this Lee, Silca need to look at pricing.
